Corrections
Something on a report is wrong
We publish assessments of websites, and sometimes we get a fact wrong. When that happens we want to know, and we fix it. Corrections are free, they are free whether or not you are a customer, and payment is never a route to one.
What we will change
- ✓A wrong registration date, registrar or hosting detail
- ✓A security flag that has since been cleared
- ✓The wrong category or description of what the site does
- ✓A claim about authorship or ownership that is not true
- ✓A review that breaches our rules — fake, paid, or from a competitor
- ✓Anything we stated as fact that you can show is not
What we will not change
- ×An accurate negative review, because it is unflattering
- ×A score you disagree with, where the facts underneath it are right
- ×Our editorial judgement, unless it rests on a wrong fact
- ×Anything, in exchange for payment
If your objection is to the score rather than to a fact, say so anyway. Disputed scores go into the manual review queue for a fresh look by an analyst who did not write the original.
Send the correction
The more specific you are, the faster this moves. A request that names one URL and one sentence gets resolved in days; a general complaint about a score takes much longer, because there is nothing to verify.

We re-run the checks
Automated signals are re-queried and compared against what is published. If the disagreement is about judgement rather than fact, the domain goes into the manual queue for a fresh review by someone who did not write the original.

We correct it and say so
The report shows that it was updated. Where a correction changes the score materially, the reason is stated on the report itself. If we decline to change something, we tell you why rather than leaving it unanswered.
If you own the site, this is often the faster route
Most low scores on otherwise legitimate sites come from the same three gaps: no named authors, no real contact or ownership page, and no independent sites linking in. Closing those changes the underlying signals, which changes the score at the next check without anyone needing to argue about it.
Not satisfied with the outcome?
If you disagree with how we handled a correction, reply to the email thread and ask for it to be looked at again by someone else. Our response times and what we will and will not change are set out on the contact page.
