Terms of use
These terms are a contract between you and SiteScano They cover what you may do with our reports and tools, what you are responsible for when you post a comment or submit a scam report, and how disputes get resolved. Please read section 15 carefully — it affects how claims against us must be brought.
1. Accepting these terms
SiteScano ("SiteScano", "we", "us") operates sitescano.com and the tools, reports and services available on it (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" includes it.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over. By using it you represent that you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and accounts we believe belong to a person under 18 are closed.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, or if we have previously terminated your account.
3. What SiteScano is, and what it is not
The Service publishes assessments of websites, built from automated signals and, for some domains, review by a human analyst. Our methodology is published at how we review websites.
Reports are informational and include opinion
A trust score is our assessment of measurable signals at a point in time. Scores, bands and analyst commentary are statements of opinion based on the disclosed facts in each report. They are not a guarantee that a website is safe or unsafe, and they are not a statement that any person or business has committed a crime.
Not professional advice
Nothing on the Service is legal, financial, investment, tax or other professional advice. Decisions you make after reading a report are your own.
Not a credit bureau or background-check service
SiteScano is not a credit bureau or background-check service. The Service must not be used as a factor in decisions about credit, insurance, employment, tenancy or any similar eligibility assessment.
4. Accounts
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials confidential, and to be responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to manipulate discussions or scam reports, or where required by law. Content you submitted may remain published after closure, in the form described in section 5.
5. Your submissions
"Submissions" means anything you send us or post: scam reports, discussion comments and replies, correction requests and any files attached to them.
You are responsible for what you submit
You represent that each Submission is your own genuine experience or your own honest opinion, that it is truthful to the best of your knowledge, that you have the rights to any material you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
Licence you grant us
You keep ownership of your Submissions. You grant SiteScano a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and display your Submissions in connection with operating and promoting the Service. This licence continues for material you have made public, so that published reports remain complete and readable.
Publication is not guaranteed
Every Submission is moderated before publication. We may decline, edit for length or clarity, redact personal information, or remove a Submission that breaches these terms. We are not obliged to publish anything, and declining to publish is not a statement about the truth of what you sent.
Discussion comments are final once posted: you cannot edit or delete a comment yourself. If you want a comment you posted taken down, contact us and we will consider the request.
Third-party content
Submissions are the statements of the people who write them, not of SiteScano, and we do not adopt them as our own. With respect to content supplied by users, SiteScano acts as an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and follows the due diligence required by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Our own reports and analyst commentary are our editorial work and are not third-party content.
7. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to make credit, employment, insurance or tenancy decisions, as described in section 3.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download the Service, or use automated means to access it, except as permitted by our robots.txt or under a written API agreement.
- Resell, redistribute or create a derivative database from our reports, scores or data without a licence.
- Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, or that discloses another person's private information.
- Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection to one.
- Upload malware, attempt to breach or probe our systems, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Use the Service to stalk, dox or target an individual.
8. Paid services
Some features — monitoring, alerting, API access and cleanup services — are paid. Prices, billing periods and what is included are shown at the point of purchase and form part of these terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal. You can cancel at any time from your account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Except where required by law or stated at purchase, fees already paid are non-refundable. Taxes are added where applicable.
We may change prices on notice. Changes take effect at your next renewal, and you may cancel before then if you do not accept them.
9. Copyright and content complaints
If material on the Service infringes your copyright, or is otherwise unlawful, write to our team with enough detail for us to find and assess it.

What a complaint must contain
- Your name and a contact address for our reply.
- The exact URL, and the exact material or statement complained of.
- Why it is infringing or unlawful, with any evidence you hold.
- If you act for someone else, confirmation that you are authorised to do so.
We acknowledge complaints within 2 working days, correct confirmed factual errors within 5, and complete a full re-review within 15 working days where one is warranted.
What we remove, and what we do not
We correct anything shown to be factually wrong, quickly and free of charge. We do not remove accurate reporting because its subject finds it unflattering. Content is taken down on a court order or on notification by an appropriate government agency, and we act on those within the statutory timeframe. Repeated abusive or bad-faith complaints may be declined with reasons.
10. Our content and trade marks
The Service, its design, software, text, scoring methodology and reports are owned by SiteScano or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. "SiteScano" and our logo are our trade marks.
You may read, print and share individual reports for your own non-commercial use, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not copy the Service's structure, build a competing dataset from it, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests endorsement.
Third-party data used in reports, including link metrics supplied by Ahrefs, remains the property of the respective providers.
11. Corrections and disputes about a report
If a report contains a factual error, tell us and we will fix it. Use the correction form or write to [email protected], naming the exact URL and the exact statement at issue and explaining why it is wrong.
We acknowledge within 2 working days, correct confirmed factual errors within 5 working days, and complete a full re-review within 15 working days where one is warranted. Where we decline to make a change, we say why. Corrections are free, and payment is never a route to one.
We do not remove accurate reporting because the subject finds it unfavourable.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that reports are complete, current or error-free, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that a website with a high score is safe. Security and reputation change; a report reflects the date shown on it. Third-party data may be inaccurate or delayed. You use the Service, and rely on any report, at your own risk.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SITESCANO AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOST GOODWILL OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THAT PERIOD, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SiteScano and its officers, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your Submissions, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
15. Governing law and disputes
Talk to us first
Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to [email protected] and give us 30 days to resolve the matter. Almost everything ends here, and it is faster for both of us than the alternative.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Gurugram, Haryana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service, and both parties submit to that jurisdiction.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
16. General terms
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on this page with a new "last updated" date, and where the change is significant we give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Termination
We may suspend or end your access at any time if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 3, 5, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 survive termination.
Severability and waiver
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Entire agreement and assignment
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service. You may not assign them; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of assets.

6. Comments policy
This section exists because the integrity of the Service depends on it, and because the integrity of a discussion platform depends entirely on refusing the practices listed here.

Accounts used for any of the above are closed, and the content is removed. Where a coordinated manipulation campaign is identified, we may publish a note on the affected report describing what we found.
